The People First Bank Foundation is a Public Ancillary Fund and can provide grants to registered charitable organisations that have deductible gift recipient (DGR) status. After an extensive review process of our membership, staff, societal issues and the location of our network, the Foundation Board has elected to focus on:

We want to make it easy for you to support the Foundation and donations can be made in a number of ways. Donations to the Foundation are fully tax deductible. Plus People First Bank funds all operational costs of the Foundation, to make sure your donations are 100% used to help those in need now, and into the future.

You can donate online today through our GiveNow portal. We use GiveNow and their secure donation platform to accept your donation online. This allows us to offer you multiple ways to make your donation through a easy-to-use platform.

Take the next step with your charitable giving by starting a People First Bank Foundation “Sub-Fund”.
By way of a tax deductible donation, you establish a Sub-Fund within the People First Bank Foundation. Your Sub-Fund is then invested as part of the entire fund, with the aim of producing income for annual donations to eligible charities of your request.
The People First Bank Foundation was established in 2018 under the Heritage Bank brand, with initial seed funding of $2 million. Heritage Bank donated an additional $1 million in 2021 to enhance the Foundation's ability to support the important work of the registered charitable organisations who receive grants.
Now with a new name, and the collective support of the former brands, Heritage Bank and People's Choice Credit Union, the People First Bank Foundation has more support than ever.
We will continue the great work already being done, with the generous donations from the People First Bank team and customers. Members of the business community are also encouraged to become involved by getting in touch with a Foundation Representative.
